Moving Your Podcast to Buzzsprout

We’d love to host your podcast! 🎉 If your show is already hosted somewhere, but you’d like to try Buzzsprout, getting started is simple. You'll be able to check out the Buzzsprout platform and features without affecting your current podcast. Then, when you're ready, moving hosts takes about 15 minutes!

Step 1: Find Your Podcast

When you sign up for Buzzsprout, we'll ask if you are starting a new podcast or moving an existing one. Since you already have a podcast, select I Already Have a Podcast! CleanShot 2025-09-19 at 16.21.04@2x.png
Next, search for the name of your podcast and click on its artwork! This will start the import process, where we'll copy a few episodes and your podcast details into your account so you can see how everything will look inside of Buzzsprout. This step is quick— it typically takes about 1-2 minutes!

Note: This doesn’t affect your existing podcast. We’re just making a copy of your episodes, so you can get a feel for podcasting with Buzzsprout. You haven’t committed to anything yet! We’ll make sure they’re in the correct format and properly tagged with ID3 tags! CleanShot 2025-09-19 at 16.27.59@2x.png

Step 2: Upgrade Your Account

When you're ready to make the move to Buzzsprout, you'll want to upgrade to one of our paid plans. On the Home page of your account are the steps to finish setting up your podcast in Buzzsprout. Here, click "Upgrade your account to copy the rest of your episodes."

You can also go to Settings > Subscription > Plan in your account to upgrade. We'll break down all our plans here: Buzzsprout Pricing! CleanShot 2025-09-22 at 10.03.53@2x.png

Step 3: Copy Your Remaining Episodes

Once you upgrade, we will import all of your existing episodes from your RSS feed without counting it against your monthly upload allowance. Just click "Copy your remaining episodes" on your Home page to start the process. It only takes a few minutes, and you’ll see your episodes queue up and process automatically.

Pro Tip: You can bring your stats with you when you move to Buzzsprout! Check out this article for the full process of importing your stats!

Step 4: Redirect Your Old Feed

Once your episodes are in Buzzsprout, you’ll need to redirect your podcast feed from your old host. Redirecting your feed is one of the most important parts of moving your podcast to a new host.  It tells your directory listings to read your new RSS Feed, so that they can update your listings with your new episodes and changes in Buzzsprout!

We have guides that will walk you through redirecting to Buzzsprout from different hosts, including Spotify, Libsyn, Podbean, Spreaker, and Feedburner.

With your 301 redirect in place, the last step will be to test the redirect to ensure that everything is working properly!

Note: You'll need to take one more step to make sure your Spotify listing is moved to Buzzsprout! Check out that extra step here: Updating RSS Feed in Spotify image (3).png

Welcome to Buzzsprout!

That’s it! We're so glad to have you in the Buzzsprout community!

We recommend keeping your account with your old podcast host active for at least 2 weeks before deleting it. This will give the directories time to update things on their end, so you won't lose any subscribers or listings.

If you have any questions during your import process, shoot an email to our support team at support@buzzsprout.com, and we will walk you through the entire process!
